If a MS Windows operating system no longer supports 32-bit applications and/or data exchange between applications via Object Linking and Embedding (OLE),
you can use a MS Windows operating system and a MS Office software that supports OLE in virtual machines, such as Oracle www.virtualbox.org.
All MS Windows operating systems from Windows 3.1 to Windows 11 run as virtual machines with Oracle VirtualBox on Linux, Microsoft, and Apple operating systems.

Recommended operating system environments for Oracle VirtualBox:
Linux: OpenSUSE 15.1 until 15.5, Mageia 7 or  8, Kubuntu 18
MS Windows: Windows 7, Windows 10 or 11

Recommended Oracle VirtualBox versions: VirtualBox 6, VirtualBox 7

Recommended Virtual Machine: MS Windows 2000, MS Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit), MS Windows 10 or 11

AsTher Process Calculator requires MS Excel.
Recommended Excel Versions: MS Office XP,
To date, no problem with any Office version is known.
In all our calculations, we considered MS Excel version 2003 as the most stable Excel version.
The choice of operating system and software is an individual matter.
When a change or update of operating systems, compilers, software algorithms or thermodynamic data sets, office software, brings new problems and there is no prospect of improvement, we touch nothing.
